Keeping Cords and Cables Organized Entertainment centers can be a jungle. Organize your tangled cords and wires into one neat cable. While you’re at it, label each cord at both ends with the name of the component it’s for.
Measuring for Pipe: When cutting pipe for a specific run, be sure to make allowances for the distance of pipe that fits into the fittings. Figure about 1/2” for each end of each fitting. Also, remember to add the extra length the fittings will give the entire run of pipe.
Change Lawn Patterns: Running your mower over the lawn in the same way each time will cause wheel ruts where you turn and create a lean in the grass’s growing direction. Go lengthwise, widthwise, and diagonally. Overlap the previous pass by a few inches.
Door Chime Problems: Bells or chimes usually don’t work if their clappers or plungers are dirty. If the doorbell is dirty, the ring usually sounds muffled or muted. Take off the cover and inspect the points that strike the chimes or bells for dirt. If they are dirty, use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol or an old toothbrush in lighter fluid to clean them.
